A session was held by Dr. Asanka Eriyawa, the Asst. Headquarters Commissioner of the Sri Lanka Scout Association and the Better World Framework Coordinator, in order to educate the members of the troop on the Better World Framework and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) adopted in 2015 by the General Assembly of the United Nations, put forward with the vision that by the year 2030, we would be living in a world that is fully inclusive of people from all walks of life, whether it be the disabled, refugees, a world with no discrimination between genders.
The Sustainable Development Goals are:

- Zero Hunger
- Good Health and Well-being
- Quality Education
- Gender Equality
- Clean Water and Sanitation
- Affordable and Clean Energy
- Decent Work and Economic Growth
- Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
- Reducing Inequality
- Sustainable Cities and Communities
- Responsible Consumption and Production
- Climate Action
- Life Below Water
- Life On Land
- Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions
- Partnerships for the Goals
The session was held via the Zoom video conferencing platform with over 50 Participants. After the session a survey was taken from participants on what they had done or would do to help to achieve the above Sustainable Development Goals. The survey was met with highly positive feedback and after the session the new ‘Earth Tribe’ was introduced for the first time in Sri Lanka.

TL;DR- A session on the SDG’s put forward by the UN in 2015 was held on June 6th 2020 and afterwards a survey was held based on the subject of the session.
